I BELIEVE that marriage is between one man and one woman. Founded as a nation of laws based upon the divine revelation of the Bible it is unthinkable that any reasonable person could suppose that we can turn so far from these truths as to authorize and legalize the very practices that historically caused the God of the Bible to destroy whole nations and people groups.

The Christian teaching about marriage is clear. “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.” Eph. 5:31,32

According to this passage from the Bible marriage between one man and one woman is a picture of God’s intimate relationship to His Church.

The very foundations of society are based upon marriage between a man and woman. The ability to pro-create is given solely to a man and woman. There is no historical record of two men or two women ever producing offspring together.
