In the reform of our healthcare system without a public option

WE BELIEVE in the reform of our healthcare system without a public option. Certainly our current healthcare system leaves much to be desired and many people who need quality healthcare cannot afford the insurance required to have it or the medicines and treatments available for helping with their illnesses. Often this leads to going to a city hospital emergency room where treatment is given regardless and the bills that follow can lead to bankruptcy or at least a destruction of ones personal credit rating.

Though we recognize this real and growing problem, turning our medical care over to the federal government is like throwing oneself into a wood chipper to cure athlete’s feet. When was the last time any of us can remember the government doing any business better than private industry.

Ronald Reagan once said, “Government doesn’t solve problems, it just subsidizes them”. This attempt by the liberals to put our physical well being in the hands of the federal government − especially the cadre that is currently running the show − is nothing more than the first step toward socializing America.

Aside from the fact that we are already stretching our budget like a child’s balloon over a city skyscraper, government run healthcare would shipwreck our economy beyond repair and introduce a host of other problems like more government funded abortions, euthanasia, selective age based care and bureaucrats deciding who will be helped and how much help they will receive. If you hate HMO’s you’ll have heart palpitations over what’s coming if they have their way with this bill. In that case you’d better get some insurance quickly or you may end up in jail for not having any.

Here’s a question we need answered: If government run healthcare is so good why do wealthy Canadians and Europeans come to America when they need real medical treatment? Over 500,000 thousand doctors have urged Congress not to pass this bill saying it will shipwreck medical care as we know it and drive doctors out of the business in search of other careers. Still the Congress refuses to listen and pushes on with their agenda, proving in fact that it’s not about health, it’s about government control.

Of course taking $500 billion from Medicare is a sure way to make that program better isn’t it? This is the kind of wisdom that prevails when government is in charge of business.
